About the position

The Senior Java/Oracle Backend Developer position is an onsite role based in Durham, NC, focusing on developing and maintaining cloud applications using Java and Oracle technologies. The role requires extensive experience in database programming and financial services, with a strong emphasis on PL-SQL and complex business logic. The position is offered on a W2 basis, with a competitive hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications using Java, including REST/SOAP services.
• Maintain and develop cloud applications in AWS.
• Perform heavy database work with PL-SQL and Oracle Database.
• Implement complex business logic using PL-SQL and Java.
• Conduct all associated CI/CD and testing work, including Jenkins, Udeploy, Concourse, Terraform, and Cloudformation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Oracle and Java development.
• Strong experience with database programming, particularly with PL/SQL and SQL.
• Experience in developing Java applications using Spring Framework and REST/SOAP web services.
• Proven experience in financial services.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS and CI/CD processes.
• Production support experience is highly desired.
• Data Driven / Test Driven development experience.
