About the position

The Senior Java Software Engineer / Scrum Master at RTX Corporation will play a crucial role in leading a distributed team in the development of complex applications using Java. This position involves facilitating scrum events, removing obstacles to team progress, and ensuring adherence to software engineering principles and practices. The role requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to communicate effectively within the team and with stakeholders. The position is based onsite in Richardson, Texas, and requires obtaining and maintaining a TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate scrum events including sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.
  • Remove obstacles that may impede the team's progress.
  • Utilize understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering.
  • Communicate concepts and ideas effectively to team members and stakeholders.
  • Support limited business travel for customer meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in software development.
  • Experience developing complex applications using Java.
  • Experience with container orchestration products such as Kubernetes or Apache OpenShift.
  • Experience using Python.
  • Familiarity with Agile or DevSecOps toolsets (e.g. Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, Cucumber).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance.

  • Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
  • CSM certification.
  • Experience with OpenShift and Helm.
  • Experience with Golang.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies.
  • Experience with Kong API Gateway.
  • Understanding of the GEOINT Needs and Collection Management domain.
  • Experience working with a geographically distributed team.
