About the position

The Senior Java Springboot Developer (GCP) at Infosys is responsible for assisting in the technical design of large business systems, building applications, and ensuring data security, retention, and recovery. The role involves researching technologies to recommend solutions, contributing to best practices, and guiding the team during the build and test phases. The position requires a strong understanding of application components, programming languages, and cloud platforms, with a focus on reliability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the technical design of large business systems.
  • Build applications and interfaces between applications.
  • Understand data security, retention, and recovery.
  • Research technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards.
  • Contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Provide expertise on significant application components, program languages, databases, and operating systems.
  • Guide and mentor the team during the build and test phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Experience in Java 8/11.
  • Experience in Microservices and Microservice Architecture.
  • Experience with Spring Boot/MVC/Batch and REST API.
  • Experience on any Cloud Platform (GCP/AWS/Azure).

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 7 years of experience in Java 8/11.
  • At least 6 years of experience as a Java developer in a Cloud Platform.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Cloud Migration.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Data Ingestion and Data Quality Products.
  • At least 4 years of experience with RESTful API interfaces and Programming in AWS APIs.
  • Strong hands-on experience in setting up, maintaining, and evolving the cloud infrastructure of web applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Openshift container platform.
  • Strong DevOps expertise using TeamCity, Nexus, Terraform, Selenium, Jenkins, BitBucket.
  • Experience in writing Unit test cases using tools like Junit or Mockito.
  • Experience in team management and team lead activities (Code review / peer review).
