About the position

The Senior Key Account Manager, Strategic Accounts is a senior-level role focused on managing and expanding DSV's Road business with global Oil & Gas clients. This position emphasizes developing long-term growth plans, retention strategies, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to optimize supply chain solutions. The role requires initiative, self-motivation, and a commitment to overcoming challenges while driving growth across various service lines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Premier Oil & Gas Account(s) across DSV Road and other service lines.
  • Align strategic account development with key stakeholders, including direct/indirect reports.
  • Lead a commercial team by implementing performance-driven initiatives and achieving sales targets.
  • Ensure clear communication and transparency on customer activities throughout the DSV organization.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for customer issues, focusing on agreement-related incidents.
  • Develop and implement a strategic account plan to retain and grow customer relationships and revenue.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement processes in collaboration with the customer.
  • Stay updated on market trends and developments within assigned accounts and the logistics industry.
  • Leverage expertise and specialists to create value-added solutions for customers.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities within customer accounts and collaborate with colleagues to drive growth.
  • Define and agree upon goals and KPIs for logistics activities in line with client requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Share best practices with the broader team to enhance DSV's professionalism.
  • Manage team performance, including supervising team members and coordinating with other departments.
  • Identify skill development opportunities and provide coaching and feedback to direct and indirect reports.
  • Establish clear sales objectives for direct reports, both short-term and long-term.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to evaluate individual and team progress.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of sales experience in the freight forwarding/logistics industry required.
  • 5+ years of Sales/Account Management experience in the Oil & Gas vertical.
  • Strong knowledge of all products including supply chain solutions, freight forwarding, and contract logistics.
  • Previous experience in managerial positions in an international environment.
  • Business fluent in English, preferably with a good command of the local language.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (MS Dynamics) Tools.
