About the position

The Senior Lab System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the engineering datacenter labs, ensuring the smooth operation of both hardware and software development teams. This role involves network setup, system integration, and performance monitoring to support the company's Network Access Control product suite. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in virtualization and network architecture, along with strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for network setup and management including maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
• Perform system setup, integration, and validation of network devices both hardware and software.
• Execute system maintenance of servers, workstations, and network elements to support teams.
• Provide support for the design, validation, and configuration management of lab systems.
• Administer user's system access and protection of information to meet security requirements.
• Monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage the budgeting needs of the engineering lab space.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing engineering datacenter labs, supporting both software and hardware development teams.
• Extensive experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., Microsoft HyperV, Nutanix AHV, KVM, VMware) and network architecture (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade).
• Exceptional knowledge in administering server operating systems (Windows & Linux).
• Strong experience with VMware vRealize/Aria and other lab automation tools.
• Solid working experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Python, and other scripting languages for automation is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex software and network issues.
• Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and implement new technologies.
• In-depth understanding of highly available, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure and services.
• Proficiency in IPv4/v6 addressing schemes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud software integration and 3rd party devices and software applications.
• Proficient in composing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
