About the position

The Senior Land Management Coordinator at OGE Energy Corporation is responsible for overseeing land management activities, including acquiring necessary rights for electric transmission and distribution lines, substations, and power plants. This role involves complex problem-solving, negotiation, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure the successful operation of the company's facilities. The position requires a strong understanding of land management processes, legal documentation, and effective communication with both internal and external parties.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and coordinate the acquisition of rights (easements, permits, purchase, etc.) for the company to construct and operate its facilities.
  • Research title records and resolve complex title issues/gaps.
  • Write complex legal descriptions for property rights required by the company.
  • Prepare land and right of way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, licenses, contracts, and other complex documents.
  • Settle damages with land owners and tenants.
  • Address public inquiries concerning the company's property rights.
  • Plot complex metes and bounds property/easement descriptions for company assets.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret various complex maps and plans.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of contacts with landowners and external customers.
  • Meet deadlines, prioritize work, and attend field meetings with internal and external customers.
  • Record company documents in public record.
  • Resolve complex encroachments and release requests.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to third-party contract land personnel to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Train others in land management processes and procedures.
  • Act as a company resource and subject matter expert in a land management functional area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Paralegal, Energy Land Management) and 5 years of relevant experience; or
  • Associate's Degree in a related field and 8 years of relevant experience; or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of relevant experience with 5 years as a Land Management Coordinator.
