About the position

The Senior Large Financial Institution Resolution Specialist position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships (DRR) and is responsible for identifying and monitoring resolution risks in large insured depository institutions (LIDIs). The role involves developing resolution strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders in the financial sector.

Responsibilities

• Monitor resolution risks in a portfolio of LIDIs, identifying potential issues related to resolution and receivership.
• Serve as a technical expert for resolution planning programs and ensure compliance with FDIC regulations.
• Design and propose written resolution strategies for LIDIs, considering their unique profiles and operational impediments.
• Participate in the development and implementation of policies related to financial institution operational complexity and resolution risk.
• Conduct outreach to stakeholders to ensure awareness of regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with regulators and financial institutions.
• Support the Chief of Large Financial Institution Resolution Planning with logistical issues related to bank closures.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in identifying and monitoring financial, operational, or resolution risks in large financial institutions.
• Ability to develop written reports on banking risks and strategies for resolving failing institutions.
• Experience in preparing or evaluating bank resolution submissions.
• Experience in developing and implementing organizational policies related to banking operations or resolution planning.
