Wells Fargo Commercial Banking is dedicated to providing a comprehensive suite of products and services tailored to meet the diverse financial needs of its commercial banking clients. We are currently seeking a Senior Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to join our Middle Market Banking segment as part of the credit management team. This pivotal role is responsible for credit underwriting and portfolio management, ensuring alignment with the long-term financial objectives and risk tolerance of our commercial banking clients. As a key member of a client's deal team, you will play an essential role in delivering tailored financial solutions that meet complex client needs. In this position, you will partner closely with relationship managers and other deal team members, acting as a vital client-facing member of the relationship team. Your responsibilities will include reviewing, researching, and recommending solutions for highly complex and unique challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. You will be expected to deliver innovative solutions that necessitate vision, creativity, and advanced analytical thinking, while also coordinating complex activities and providing guidance to others. As an expert advisor to leadership, you will engage with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management professionals and managers across the company. Your decision-making will involve navigating complex and multifaceted situations, requiring a deep understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence the broader work team. You will collaborate and consult with peers and mid- to high-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals, while also leading projects and mentoring peers. Managing the credit needs of a portfolio of complex clients, primarily those with annual revenues exceeding $100 million, will be a core responsibility. You will monitor your assigned portfolio of credit commitments to ensure ongoing compliance with loan agreements, covenants, and payoff requirements, while also resolving problem accounts in partnership with deal teams. Your role will involve determining the creditworthiness of prospective clients through comprehensive analysis of financial statements, projections, and cash flows, as well as preparing and presenting credit memos to senior approvers. Additionally, you will negotiate terms for the largest and most complex transactions, ensuring that appropriate documentation is in place and identifying critical risks to propose effective structuring alternatives.
