About the position

As a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the company's infrastructure by leveraging your extensive technical expertise across various domains. You will lead a team of skilled engineers focused on solving complex business challenges through innovative technology solutions, while collaborating with business stakeholders and internal technology teams to design and implement modern, scalable, and highly available technology platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Applies deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, and finding ways to mitigate risk.
  • Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes.
  • Manages infrastructure engineering in accordance with business requirements.
  • Drives results and implements multiple complex programs.
  • Drives thought leadership within the product line.
  • Executes work according to compliance standards, risk and security, and business objectives.
  • Considers upstream/downstream system or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions.
  • Advises junior engineers and technologists.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Works directly with line of business stakeholders and internal engineering teams to engineer and deliver next generation system platforms.
  • Serves as a key leader in building critical infrastructure platforms.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments.
  • Adept in specific infrastructure technology and programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.).
  • Deep technical knowledge across multiple domains.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
  • Knowledge of on-premises and remote Data Center technologies and operations.
  • Strong experience in several OS and Hypervisor platforms.
  • Extensive experience with moving/deploying applications into the cloud.
  • Experience in deploying and using telemetry tools to improve visibility and service offerings.
  • Ability to partner and collaborate with non-technical business partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to managing budgets.
  • Extensive Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Working knowledge of several Hypervisors (Hyper-V, ESXi, KVM, VMWARE, OpenShift).
  • Experience with scripting languages, preferably Python, JavaScript, yaml, Json.
  • Infrastructure performance and optimization knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of public cloud technologies, for AWS / Azure on Kubernetes, Terraform.
  • Working knowledge of Automation and Orchestration platforms - Ansible.
