About the position
The Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Database Architect role at JPMorgan Chase involves providing expert design leadership and practical solutions to address customer data challenges using modern distributed databases. This position requires collaboration with internal product teams and clients, focusing on cloud-based solutions and open-source products, while also generating content such as webinars and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage consulting engagements with clients.
- Collaborate with internal product teams to design as-a-service product infrastructure.
- Generate content including webinars, white papers, blogs, and presentations.
- Act as a trusted advisor across the firm, working with clients from various sectors.
- Understand and stay updated on database technologies, streaming, and integration tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in Infrastructure Engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Experience with software development and architecture, including at least one distributed database or system (e.g., Snowflake, CockroachDB, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Kafka).
- Experience with traditional relational databases (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, MySQL) and good working knowledge of SQL.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Expertise with Linux.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to convey complex information effectively.
- Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems.
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, engineering, mathematics, or a related analytical field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with various database products, ETL tools, and financial software solutions.
- Experience with database programming and data models.
- Certification in one or more NoSQL products.
