About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Product Designer to shape the future of the Home Lending experience for both internal operators and customers. This role focuses on creating a user-centric design vision, ensuring that internal teams have the necessary tools to support their workflows efficiently. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to define product strategy, reduce complexity, and execute innovative design across the product portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop objectives and long-term goals for Product Design.
• Lead the strategy and resolution of complex challenges in Product Design, delivering long-term solutions.
• Provide vision and expertise to senior leadership on implementing significant business solutions.
• Lead design execution and strategy for Home Lending products, focusing on internal operator experience.
• Collaborate with business partners, product management, and engineering to align on design goals and timelines.
• Champion a user-centric approach in design decisions for both customers and internal operators.
• Create innovative user experiences that address complex needs.
• Design seamless interactions for data-heavy applications to optimize workflows and improve customer journeys.
• Leverage user research and data to inform design solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product roadmaps and align deliverables.
• Drive consistency in design and ensure compliance with design standards and accessibility guidelines.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system for consistency and scalability across products.
• Continuously improve the design process for efficiency and innovation.
• Communicate the value of design to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Website or Application Design experience or equivalent.
• Degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio in interaction design, visual design, IA, and UX strategy.
• Proven experience leading design initiatives from concept to execution, preferably in mortgage or financial services.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability testing methodologies.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership and communicate the strategic value of design.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Experience leading design initiatives within a product management framework.
• Expertise in design tools such as Figma.
