About the position

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering high-quality technology products within the Consumer and Community Banking sector. This role involves applying deep technical expertise to solve complex challenges across various technologies and applications, driving significant business impact through your contributions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to support business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
  • Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firm-wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider leading-edge technologies.
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Develop software and database solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and REST APIs.
  • Innovate and continuously improve through ideation, building, and implementing solutions.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced experience in one or more programming languages.
  • In-depth knowledge of software applications and technical processes in areas like cloud, AI, and machine learning.
  • Ability to independently tackle design and functionality problems with minimal oversight.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Deep expertise in technologies such as Java (Core & EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud), Microservices, API - REST, DevOps/CI/CD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working at the code level.
  • AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification.
  • Strong Kubernetes practical knowledge and certification.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and architecture.
