About the position

The Senior Lean Engineer/Practitioner will lead and implement lean methodologies within the manufacturing team to optimize processes, eliminate waste, and drive continuous improvement. This role requires a strong background in lean manufacturing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead projects while collaborating with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in kaizen events and value stream mapping exercises.
  • Identify and eliminate waste in manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement workflow charts and process maps to improve efficiency.
  • Conduct time studies and analyze manufacturing layouts to optimize production.
  • Coordinate and lead continuous improvement projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with global teams to share best practices and drive process improvements.
  • Create and maintain project charters outlining objectives, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate current processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement lean methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other process improvement techniques.
  • Ensure adherence to lean principles and practices across the manufacturing floor.
  • Work closely with the Director of Manufacturing and global lean teams to align improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate daily communications with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Provide training and support to team members on lean methodologies and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement.
  • Proven track record of leading successful lean projects and kaizen events.
  • Strong understanding of lean methodologies such as Six Sigma (Black or Green Belt), Kaizen, and value stream mapping.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing process maps and workflow charts.
  • Experience with time studies and manufacturing layout optimization.
