About the position

The Senior Learning and Development Specialist will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and executing training programs that enhance employee development and align with the organization's goals. This position offers an entrepreneurial environment for candidates to lead the enhancement of training programs while growing their professional skills. It is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC, requiring both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to defining, developing, and refining learning and development strategies, programs, curriculum, and processes.
  • Manage coordination and facilitation of training via in-person classes, virtual workshops, and e-learning platforms.
  • Work cross-functionally with BRG leaders to develop L&D programs and provide end-to-end L&D expertise.
  • Conduct needs analysis and consult with stakeholders to manage delivery and evaluate L&D content.
  • Demonstrate change management to align understanding and communicate initiatives.
  • Surface feedback and identify ways to optimize training processes and deliverables.
  • Create and maintain program materials such as presentation decks and course outlines.
  • Design course content in-house or recommend outside instructional design support.
  • Create and administer employee surveys to evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Partner with Practice/Functional Leaders to assess training needs and develop training programs.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts for ad-hoc training needs.
  • Assist HR in designing and implementing programming for performance management and DEI initiatives.
  • Support compliance training delivery in collaboration with Legal, HR, and Internal Communications teams.
  • Manage the firm's mentorship program.
  • Participate in creating a portfolio of learning programs and training paths.
  • Oversee Continuing Professional Education resources for employees with certifications.
  • Participate in the implementation of Workday Learning.
  • Mentor Learning & Development Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in learning and development, e-learning, or organizational development.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in designing and developing instructor-led training programs.
  • Experience at a consulting firm or professional service-oriented company is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change management.
  • Proven competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
