We're in search of a Senior Legal Assistant/Paralegal with an interest in criminal law to join a team pledged to give the highest quality legal aid to our South Florida community. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Leadership Team and attorneys to handle all aspects of case management efficiently
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of assigned cases, identifying and understanding legal issues effectively
  • Exercise sound judgment in performing duties and solving problems with precision
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in carrying out job responsibilities accurately
  • Draft documents with clarity and completeness, ensuring accuracy
  • Meet deadlines promptly and be willing to contribute extra time when necessary
  • Efficiently manage the calendars of attorneys and maintain proactive communication with in-house and overseas staff

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the legal field is required
  • Must have a genuine passion for criminal defense and assisting others in need
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a must
  • Strong work ethic and a sense of pride in delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment, showcasing a collaborative mindset
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership
  • Self-motivated, reliable, resourceful, and detail-oriented
  • Capable of handling sensitive situations with professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy
  • Possess a compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor
