About the position

The Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial at Dr. Reddy's will play a crucial role in supporting the commercial teams in North America, particularly in the biosimilars and health and wellness sectors. This position involves providing legal advice on approved and pipeline products, reviewing promotional materials, and drafting various agreements. The attorney will work closely with multiple departments to ensure compliance and success in commercial operations while also mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to the commercial business and operations regarding approved and pipeline products.
  • Review promotional and educational materials and participate in the promotional review committee.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review various agreements including consulting, master service, supply, distribution, and market access-related agreements.
  • Advise on interactions with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and related agreements.
  • Provide legal guidance on patient support programs and specialty pharmacy collaborations.
  • Work with the Global Legal and Compliance Department to improve processes.
  • Identify opportunities for the legal and business teams.
  • Provide clear and concise advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Offer innovative ideas in complex areas of law and business.
  • Mentor colleagues.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school in the United States.
  • Member of at least one state bar in good standing.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm and/or in-house with a life science company.
  • Prior experience in counseling pharmaceutical companies on legal issues relating to advertising and promotion.
  • Knowledge of statutes, regulations, and guidance documents applicable to commercial operations and medical activities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including drafting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain an independent and objective perspective while partnering with client organizations.
  • History of self-motivation and ability to work independently on projects.
  • Experience with drafting and negotiating complex pharmaceutical licensing agreements.
  • Excellent legal analysis skills.
