About the position
The Senior Employment Attorney will join a highly respected law firm in West Sacramento, specializing in employment defense. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned attorney to manage complex cases, provide strategic legal counsel, and mentor junior staff in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload of complex employment defense matters.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and participate in trials.
- Provide strategic legal counsel and advocacy on behalf of clients, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to case strategy, planning, and client communication.
- Offer mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and support staff as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 9+ years of employment law experience, with a strong defense background.
- Must be Bar licensed in California, in good standing.
- Residency in or willingness to relocate to Sacramento, California.
- Extensive experience with California employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
