About the position

The Senior-Level Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and evaluation of nuclear power plant systems. This role involves preparing and reviewing modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, engineering analyses, and procurement documents. The engineer will also lead project teams, develop cost estimates, and interface with clients, all while working in a hybrid schedule that requires in-office presence three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
  • Create functional mechanical drawings and drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
  • Develop technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
  • Perform studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
  • Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
  • Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and present engineering tasks and status.
  • Lead engineering project teams.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.

Nice-to-haves

  • PE license is beneficial, but not required.
