About the position

LATG is seeking a Senior-Level Network Engineer responsible for installing and maintaining multi-manufacturer hardware, including cables, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless adaptors. The role involves analyzing network documentation, communicating with clients about network status, providing consultation and support, and conducting training as needed. The engineer will also troubleshoot network issues and upgrade hardware and software components as required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network security architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Develop and enforce network segmentation strategies to protect critical assets and sensitive data.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of network security controls to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
  • Investigate security breaches and unauthorized access attempts, implementing countermeasures as needed.
  • Collaborate with incident response teams to develop and participate in incident response plans.
  • Implement and manage access control mechanisms, including role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication.
  • Regularly review and update access control policies to align with security requirements.
  • Deploy and configure security monitoring tools to monitor network activities for threats.
  • Analyze security logs and traffic patterns to identify potential security incidents.
  • Develop and maintain security incident response playbooks and workflows.
  • Develop, review, and enforce network security policies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • BS/CS/CE technical degree required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Data Center, Campus, and Wifi solutions.
  • Experience with routing and switching including L2/L3 protocols.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN.
  • Understanding of the networking technology landscape.
  • Experience with Cisco/Fortinet/Aruba networking.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) and industry frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls.
