About the position

As a Senior Level User Interface Developer at Peraton, you will play a crucial role in managing Foundation GEOINT standards databases, which includes providing database edits, generating reports, and assisting with the FGS-DPS Cloud database and website user interface development and maintenance. Your responsibilities will encompass serving as a member of the Source Foundation GEOINT (SF) Standards Team, where you will conduct web and tools development that is essential for ensuring clear and transparent communication across various stakeholders, including customers, the Intelligence Community (IC), the Department of Defense (DoD), and commercial partners worldwide. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and managing responsive designs while applying principles of good web user experience (UX). You will need to be highly proficient with tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML editors, and other web publishing tools. Your role will also involve creating and building to technical designs and specifications, demonstrating strong teamwork, self-starting capabilities, and comfort in a complex and multifaceted development environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role. You will take a user-centered design approach, rapidly testing and iterating designs to meet client needs and vision. This includes working closely with clients to understand detailed requirements and designing complete user experiences. Additionally, you will attend and contribute to the Defense Geospatial Information Working Group (DGIWG) technical meetings, which serve as an international forum for Symbology Standards. Your duties will also include conducting updates to the Data Product Specification (DPS) and GEOINT Content Extraction Specification (GCES) databases, generating custom reports to support standards development, and assisting with cloud migration activities alongside the Senior DBA/System Integrator. Training on all tools and capabilities for NGA and contractor personnel will also be part of your responsibilities, along with maintaining updates and functionality enhancements for GCES/DPS at a quarterly rate, prioritizing high-priority bug fixes to ensure operational status.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing Foundation GEOINT standards databases, providing database edits and report generation.
  • Serve as a member of the Source Foundation GEOINT (SF) Standards Team, conducting web and tools development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Web Design or IT with a web development focus plus 1-3 years' experience in a similar field.
  • 12 years of technical experience is required; if the experience is as a User Interface Developer, it may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1+ years of System Engineering, System Integration, and Web Development/Web-based communication/collaboration tools experience.
  • Experience with Linux, Apache, PostGRES/Relational Database, PHP/Python (LAMP).
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, User Experience Design (UXD - UI/UX).
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator or Adobe XD or Axure and other web publishing tools.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with User Interface in the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Service) Tools and Technologies, Repository within Git.
  • Familiar with website Analytics and other metrics systems.
  • Familiar with Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
