About the position

The Senior Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor at the Department of Veterans Affairs provides advanced clinical psychosocial services to eligible veterans and their families. This role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate treatment planning and implementation, contributing to the overall recovery and well-being of patients. The position is based in Chillicothe, OH, and offers a full-time schedule with telework eligibility as determined by agency policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical psychosocial services at an advanced practice level to eligible veterans and their family members.
  • Utilizes Measurement Based Care in treatment.
  • Communicates with and collaborates with other disciplines (e.g., nursing, medicine, psychology, psychiatry) to facilitate treatment planning and implementation.
  • Contributes to the overall recovery and whole health of the patient.
  • Anticipates and avoids potential causes of unnecessary conflict.
  • Provides consultation to other medical center staff and trainees regarding psychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations.
  • Participates in mental health chart reviews, compiles data, and submits findings to supervisors and leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Hold a master's or doctoral degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or a related field from a CACREP accredited program.
  • Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to independently practice as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
