About the position

The Line Engineer position at United Airlines is a critical role within the Airport Operations team, providing 24/7 engineering technical support for the airline's worldwide fleet of operational aircraft. The role involves ensuring the timely return to service of aircraft, analyzing complex technical issues, and coordinating with various operational groups to maintain airworthiness and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 engineering technical support for United Airlines' operational aircraft.
  • Analyze and seek solutions to design, operation, maintenance, performance, or repair of aircraft and their components.
  • Define aircraft maintenance programs and configurations to ensure safe and legal operations.
  • Evaluate cost impacts of fleet decisions to balance cost and asset utilization.
  • Work with internal and external customers on technical issues and failure investigations.
  • Review Service Bulletins (SBs) for applicability to the United Fleet and develop implementation plans.
  • Coordinate and lead priorities for assigned responsibilities to meet project deliverables.
  • Ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent relative work experience.
  • 4-12 years of engineering experience or related technical field.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and manage projects for regulatory compliance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of FARS (esp. 145, 25 and 121)
  • AOG experience
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
