About the position

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a new custom AI/GPU system at Space Force's National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves being the primary onsite representative for HPE, managing incidents and problem management, and ensuring optimal performance of the system in a secure environment. The position requires expertise in Linux/RHEL, cloud environments, and high-performance computing, with a focus on AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact and onsite representative of HPE for incidents and problem management.
• Assist with system build and installation activities scheduled for September.
• Perform system performance tuning and optimization of the hardware layer for workloads and tasks.
• Support change management for UEFI, BIOS, OS, and network.
• Plan resources during system expansion activities.
• Review software stack components including compilers, configurations, operating systems, and partitions.
• Provide knowledge transfer to the customer.

Requirements

• Expertise in Linux/RHEL deployment and sustainment in a secure environment.
• Experience using containers in a cloud environment.
• Understanding of AI and the hardware/system requirements to support its function.
• Degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Computer systems, Information Technology Systems, or closely related degree from an accredited institution.
• 10-15 years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming in classified environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Azure and AWS.
• Knowledge of high-performance computing (HPC) hardware operations and configurations.
• Familiarity with HPE Superdome products.
• Understanding of UEFI and BIOS.
