About the position

The Senior System Administrator LINUX position at Rite-Solutions, Inc. involves performing various system administration duties in a large Windows and Linux environment at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport. The role focuses on implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting Linux issues, ensuring compliance and security hardening, and providing excellent customer service in a technical support capacity.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support Red Hat or similar distributions of Linux.
• Utilize Ansible Tower for enterprise automation.
• Monitor network security trends and address risks with management.
• Review vendor-issued security releases and implement approved changes.
• Apply Linux and Windows security hardening principles and practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Linux implementation and support in an enterprise and R&D Lab environment.
• Integrate Linux within an Active Directory/Delania environment.
• Provide technical support for users with hardware, software, and application problems.
• Support maintenance of internal custom applications and compliance solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in implementing and supporting Linux systems.
• Experience with scripting languages and automation techniques.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification and Linux certification required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance with the U.S. government; active security clearance preferred.
