About the position

The Senior Linux System Administrator is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliable operation of an organization's computer systems, primarily focusing on Linux/UNIX environments. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, updating equipment and software, and providing technical support for complex classified systems and networks. The position requires hands-on expertise in various IT systems and technologies, including server operating systems, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and configure computer systems, ensuring reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
• Perform in-depth analysis and technical support for systems.
• Design, develop, test, and integrate operational systems.
• Provide planning and evaluation for performance analysis and capacity planning.
• Oversee implementation of system specifications and documentation.
• Administer and support server operating systems and services.
• Manage storage solutions and Data Center operations.
• Utilize configuration management and automation tools.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in Linux or Windows environments.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX and Windows Server 2016/2019.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and issue resolution skills.
• Basic knowledge of Oracle and SQL database management.

Nice-to-haves

• ITIL v3 Certification preferred.
• DoDI 8570.01m Certification required.
