About the position

The Senior Linux System/Network Administrator will join a dynamic team to provide essential support for mission systems, focusing on system administration, maintenance, and hardware/software management for a network of approximately 50 devices. This role requires a strong understanding of networking best practices and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, maintain, configure, and improve network and user systems.
• Employ networking best practices, including BGP routing, troubleshooting connectivity, and configuring/maintaining network devices.
• Interact with local analysts to resolve network and/or computer system issues.
• Create and maintain SharePoint and Confluence sites.
• Maintain enclave documentation including network diagrams, system names, IP addresses, and barcodes.
• Provide monthly activity reports including system outages.
• Configure, reconfigure, or install GFE software and COTS/GOTS as required.
• Maintain enclave System Security Plans (SSP)/Secure the Enterprise (STE)/Secure the Net (STN) requirements.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Linux OS
• Experience with NetApp data filers
• Experience conducting system security scans
• Experience maintaining enclave System Security Plans (SSP)/Secure the Enterprise (STE)/Secure the Net (STN) and sustainment
• Experience with SharePoint and Confluence
• Experience with Jira
• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree plus 10 years of relevant experience, or High School diploma/GED plus 12 years of relevant experience in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.
