About the position

The Senior Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, primarily focusing on RHEL. This role involves managing system resources, ensuring security compliance, and developing standard operating procedures for systems administration. The administrator will also handle system performance, capacity, and availability, while implementing security measures and resolving hardware/software issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of RHEL based systems.
  • Maintain STIG compliance of RHEL based systems.
  • Manage accounts and network rights.
  • Implement security procedures and tools.
  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
  • Resolve significant hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  • Ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
  • Maintain systems configuration and manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements.
  • Provide day-to-day support operations for maintaining security patches on all RHEL based systems.
  • Support operations for maintaining the VMware ESXi virtual environment.
  • Provide configuration updates to meet user requirements on all RHEL systems and services.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
  • 5 years of professional experience in systems administration
  • IATII and CSSP Compliant Certifications

Nice-to-haves

  • System Admin experience with network storage (NetApp SANs)
  • Experience with VMWare / Deploying VHDs / Virtual Computing
  • Kickstarting RHEL installs
