About the position

The Senior Linux Systems Engineer at GDIT is responsible for designing and defining system architecture for computer systems, contributing to engineering programs, and developing solutions for complex engineering problems. This role involves overseeing infrastructure, performing systems modeling and analysis, and maintaining documentation for engineering projects. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance and offers opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems
• Contribute to completion of specific engineering programs and projects
• Develop solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems
• Perform complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
• Oversee complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Perform complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
• Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
• Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology
• Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
• Serve as a team or task lead

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance required and able to pass a CI polygraph
• BA/BS or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
• Linux systems administration expertise
