About the position

Piskel Yahne Kovarik, PLLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The Senior Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by managing various aspects of litigation, including calendaring, tracking deadlines, recordkeeping, and managing legal documents. This position offers opportunities for leadership, training, and mentoring other legal staff, as well as the chance to bill time and potentially become a registered paralegal. The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00 per hour, with the potential for discretionary bonuses and participation in a production bonus program. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience working in a law office as a paralegal or legal assistant. Responsibilities will include filing court documents, drafting and editing legal documents, and handling correspondence. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong time management and organizational skills. Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Adobe, Outlook, and client management software is required. Additionally, candidates should have experience with or a desire to develop skills in mentoring, training, and leadership. Knowledge of civil rules and procedures in Washington and Idaho, as well as trial experience, is highly desirable. An Associate's degree or a Bachelor's degree is preferred, although experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Candidates must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage calendaring and tracking of deadlines for litigation cases.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping and manage legal documents.
  • File court documents and draft/edit legal documents as needed.
  • Handle correspondence related to litigation matters.
  • Mentor and train other legal staff within the office.
  • Bill time accurately and participate in the production bonus program.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years working in a law office as a paralegal or legal assistant.
