About the position

The Senior Living Operations Specialist is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the operations of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs), retirement communities, and assisted living residences. This position requires a licensed Senior Living/LNHA Administrator in Florida, with a minimum of three years of industry experience. The role is designed for an Executive Director who can step in during management vacancies, start-ups, acquisitions, or leaves of absence, providing essential support to ensure smooth operations and high-quality resident care. The Specialist will function in multiple capacities, including supervision, quality assurance, training, and direct resident care as needed. In this role, you will be tasked with conducting operations that align with our strategic initiatives, focusing on enhancing customer satisfaction, associate satisfaction, occupancy rates, and overall operational effectiveness. You will assist in recruiting and retaining qualified staff, fostering a positive team atmosphere, and may be involved in interviewing and recommending hires. Additionally, you will provide support in marketing, outreach, resident admissions, assessments, and discharge procedures, ensuring that all processes are handled efficiently and compassionately. The Senior Living Operations Specialist will also play a crucial role in managing subordinate supervisors across various departments, including resident care, marketing, food service, housekeeping, and maintenance. You will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, ensuring that all staff are trained and equipped to meet the needs of our residents. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to make informed decisions that contribute to the continuous improvement of our community operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist directors of CCRC's, retirement communities, or assisted living residences with supervision and management on a temporary, extended, or as needed basis.
  • Function in multiple roles including supervising, quality assurance, training, regulatory matters, and direct resident care as needed.
  • Conduct operations in a manner consistent with value drivers and strategic initiatives to uphold and improve customer satisfaction, associate satisfaction, occupancy, culture, and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of qualified staff and in the development and maintenance of a positive and supportive team atmosphere.
  • Provide assistance in the areas of marketing, outreach, resident admissions, resident assessments, and discharge procedures.
  • Assist with and/or conduct associate performance reviews.
  • Assess the training needs for staff and provide training as needed.
  • Assist in the resolution of budget discrepancies and variances.
  • Work to resolve issues identified by residents and/or their family members.
  • Ensure residence building and grounds are clean, free of trash and litter, and maintained in good repair.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and ensure OSHA regulations for a safe work environment are followed.
  • Assist healthcare management team to organize, develop, and conduct service plan reviews; supervise the maintenance of resident charts; review documentation performed by resident care staff.
  • Manage subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise resident care, marketing, food service, housekeeping, and maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
  • Must be licensed according to state requirements.
