The Executive Director position at Brookdale is a pivotal role that requires a licensed Senior Living/LNHA Administrator in Florida, with a minimum of three years of industry experience. In this role, the Executive Director will assist directors of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs), retirement communities, or assisted living residences with supervision and management on a temporary, extended, or as-needed basis. Responsibilities may include stepping in during management vacancies, start-ups, acquisitions, vacations, and leaves of absence, as well as supporting a Regional Vice President with special projects. The Executive Director will function in multiple roles, including supervising staff, ensuring quality assurance, training, handling regulatory matters, and providing direct resident care as needed. The position requires conducting operations in alignment with value drivers and strategic initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, associate satisfaction, occupancy rates, workplace culture, and operational effectiveness. The Executive Director will also play a crucial role in recruiting and retaining qualified staff, fostering a positive and supportive team atmosphere, and may be involved in interviewing and recommending hiring qualified associates. Additional responsibilities include assisting with marketing, outreach, resident admissions, assessments, and discharge procedures, as well as conducting associate performance reviews and assessing training needs for staff. The Executive Director will work to resolve issues identified by residents and their families, ensuring that the residence's building and grounds are well-maintained and compliant with safety regulations. This position is incentive-based, which may include bonuses, incentives, or commission plans. Responsibilities

  • Assist directors of CCRC's, retirement communities, or assisted living residences with supervision and management on a temporary, extended, or as needed basis.
  • Support a Regional Vice President with special projects as required.
  • Function in multiple roles including supervising, quality assurance, training, regulatory matters, and direct resident care as needed.
  • Conduct operations to uphold and improve customer satisfaction, associate satisfaction, occupancy, culture, and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of qualified staff and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
  • Interview and recommend hiring qualified associates as needed.
  • Provide assistance in marketing, outreach, resident admissions, assessments, and discharge procedures.
  • Conduct associate performance reviews and assess training needs for staff.
  • Resolve budget discrepancies and variances as necessary.
  • Address issues identified by residents and/or their family members.
  • Ensure the residence building and grounds are clean, maintained, and safe, performing routine safety inspections as needed.
  • Assist healthcare management in organizing, developing, and conducting service plan reviews; supervise maintenance of resident charts and documentation by care staff.
  • Manage subordinate supervisors overseeing resident care, marketing, food service, housekeeping, and maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
  • Must be licensed according to state requirements.
  • Ability to travel 100% of the time, including air travel as required by job responsibilities.
  • Strong analytic skills and an in-depth understanding of the organization and business to handle arising problems and issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of the organization, industry, and functional discipline.
