About the position

The Senior Logistics Manager position is a critical role that supports the LG Capability Enablers task at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). This position requires a self-motivated individual who will engage in various logistics-related activities, including researching supply chain processes, writing research papers, and presenting findings as required by the Government Functional Manager. The successful candidate will collaborate with Government functional managers, Program Offices, internal and external contractors, and Air Staff personnel to develop procedures and processes, provide technical support, determine analysis requirements, and identify training needs in support of the Contractor Supported Weapon System (CSWS) program. In addition to these responsibilities, the Senior Logistics Manager will respond to tasks from higher headquarters, which involves receiving, analyzing, developing, coordinating, and submitting task responses to the appropriate office. The role also includes providing support for the development and coordination of audit responses, making recommendations, and implementing those recommendations effectively. Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in Air Force supply chain logistics, whether in wholesale or retail, and have a solid understanding of the AFSC organizational structure. Management experience with Government Funded Property/Equipment (GFP, GFE) and Inventory Control Point (ICP) is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to perform staff work effectively. Experience with the Air Force Stock Control and Distribution System is highly desired, as the employee will be expected to work within the D035 environment. This position requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or alternatively, 15 years of experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, is also required.
