About the position

The Senior Logistics Project Manager Specialist at General Dynamics Mission Systems is responsible for leading Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) projects, ensuring that supportability is integrated into engineering designs from the outset. This role involves coordinating team assignments, managing project workflows, and mentoring junior staff while actively identifying and mitigating risks associated with logistics requirements. The position requires a strong background in logistics, engineering, or management, along with significant experience in project management within a defense context.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates ILS team member assignments and builds and maintains the team's functional capabilities.
• Ensures design interface between ILS and engineering occurs at the beginning and throughout a project.
• Leads project discussions across engineering, contracts, and program management domains to assess impacts on ILS requirements.
• Uncovers ILS technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in the project risk management database.
• Directs ILS project workflow to meet program and customer delivery requirements.
• Mentors junior ILS members in technical and interpersonal skills as required.
• Leads ILS project reviews and development of ILS project procedures and products.
• Provides ILS functional area inputs (technical and cost) to proposals.
• Collaborates with other IPTs to define, review, and test system requirements for enhancements/modifications.
• Performs Control Account management (CAM) tasks for projecting and controlling budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance required at time of hire, with the ability to obtain SCI clearance.
