About the position

The App Ads and Gaming team plays a crucial role in TikTok's monetization strategy, focusing on the efficient delivery of application ads. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on this team, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative machine learning solutions that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of large-scale ad delivery systems. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms and contribute to the evolution of TikTok's personalized online advertising. You will engage deeply with large-scale distributed systems, exploring multi-stage ranking models and conducting data analysis to drive feature engineering. Your collaboration with product managers, data scientists, and the product strategy and operations team will be essential in launching new App Ads products and features, making a significant impact on TikTok's advertising capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Work on the development of a large-scale App Ads delivery system and improve its accuracy.
• Explore multi-stage ranking models, conduct data analysis, and develop feature engineering.
• Participate in the innovations of core App Ads systems using machine learning models and ranking algorithms.
• Partner with product managers, data scientists, and the product strategy & operation team to launch new App Ads products and features.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with applying machine learning methods for ranking.
• 5+ years of software development experience and strong coding skills, especially in Python/C++.
• Experience with Tensorflow/PyTorch/MXNet is an essential requirement.
• Hands-on experience with industry-level recommender systems.
• Proficient in online experimentation methods and analytics, with essential knowledge and skills in statistics.
• Curiosity toward new technologies and entrepreneurship.
