About the position

The Senior Engineer position at Visa AI as a Service (VAIaS) focuses on developing new capabilities and enhancing the existing code base and development processes. This role is ideal for a passionate developer who thrives in a dynamic Agile environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, data-driven business solutions. The engineer will collaborate with various project team members, manage development efforts, and ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet architectural standards and business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project team members to ensure development and implementation of new data-driven business solutions.
• Drive development effort end-to-end for on-time delivery of high-quality solutions that conform to requirements and architectural vision.
• Document, plan, track, and manage risks and issues until all are resolved in collaboration with senior technical staff and project managers.
• Present technical solutions and features in business terms, effectively communicating status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.

Requirements

• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD).
• Experience in at least one or two programming languages such as Rust, Python, Golang, Java, or C/C++.
• Familiarity with web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC).
• Experience implementing solutions for low-latency, distributed services using open standard technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree.
• Experience with Rust, Flink, Spark, NoSQL, or Kafka.
• Exposure to leading-edge areas such as Machine Learning, Big Data, Distributed Systems, or SRE.
