About the position

As a Senior ML Engineer II, Foundational Tooling at Cruise, you will have the unique opportunity to work on the world's most advanced self-driving vehicles. Your work will be instrumental in building machine learning (ML) infrastructure that leads to the development of models running in Cruise Autonomous Vehicles (AV) that safely connect people to the places, things, and experiences they care about. We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with a passion for deep learning infrastructure and a proven track record of successfully building large-scale model optimization infrastructure for deep learning models. In this role, you will develop machine learning optimization algorithms, including limited precision quantization and pruning algorithms, and systems for ML models that drive self-driving vehicles. You will also be responsible for developing large-scale model optimization infrastructure, such as Neural Architecture Search, Fine-tuning Foundational Models, and Distillation, that scales for large foundational models in a cost-effective manner. Your expertise will help bring state-of-the-art workflows and algorithms to Cruise by integrating open-source libraries into the end-to-end model development workflow. Additionally, you will build a scalable training and deployment infrastructure where architecture selection and model optimization techniques can be seamlessly integrated and made usable by Machine Learning Engineers at Cruise. Collaboration with Autonomy, Performance systems, and ML infrastructure teams will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop machine learning optimization algorithms (limited precision quantization, pruning algorithms) and systems for ML models that drive self-driving vehicles.
