About the position

The OS Intelligence team at Apple is seeking a skilled Applied Machine Learning Engineer to innovate and enhance the user experience across various Apple operating systems. This role involves designing deep learning architectures, implementing machine learning algorithms, and contributing to the development of intelligent features that leverage machine learning to optimize performance and user interaction. The position requires collaboration across teams to integrate new technologies and improve existing systems, making it a highly visible and impactful role within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Innovate, conceptualize, and prototype novel intelligent experiences using recent advances in machine learning.
• Build scalable cloud-based and on-device infrastructure for experiments and model monitoring.
• Analyze and present key performance data for OS features.
• Write elegant, performant code in Objective-C or Swift, and test, debug, and productize it.
• Consult with and influence other teams to drive adoption of new APIs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience after a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Strong programming background with a clear understanding of operating system components.
• Familiarity with statistics, data analysis, or machine learning, with a willingness to learn more.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with a professional and collaborative attitude.
• Proven track record of leading software projects from inception to customer delivery.
• Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Python, Objective C, or Swift.
• Experience with deep learning libraries like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience building and leading applied machine learning projects in industry or academia.
