About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. The Brand Ads team at TikTok focuses on enabling brands to grow and succeed on our platform by creating cutting-edge monetization products that empower users, creators, and advertisers. This team is responsible for several ad products, including reservation ads, auction ads, and innovative content ads that help advertisers foster brand awareness and achieve their business goals. We work on the end-to-end ads delivery tech stack, which includes ads bidding, ranking, and forecasting. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be tasked with building forecasting models that allow advertisers to spend their ad budgets more efficiently. You will also create innovative monetization products that drive engagement and revenue, participate in the development of a large-scale Ads system, and iterate on Ads algorithms using Machine Learning. Additionally, you will work on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision (CV) technologies for content understanding and taxonomy. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of a rapidly growing organization while maintaining a focus on speed and quality. We are looking for engineers with strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of algorithms to build and manage systems that are high-performing, scalable, and available. You will collaborate closely with global engineering and product teams in a fast-paced environment, making a significant impact on our advertising products and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Build forecasting models to allow advertisers to more efficiently spend ad budgets.
  • Create innovative monetization products that drive engagement and revenue.
  • Participate in the development of a large-scale Ads system.
  • Participate in the development and iteration of Ads algorithms using Machine Learning.
  • Work on NLP and CV related technology for content understanding and taxonomy.
  • Contribute to the success of a rapidly growing and evolving organization with speediness and quality.

Requirements

  • Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Go, C/C++, Python.
  • Ability to think critically and to formulate solutions to problems in a clear and concise way.
  • Good understanding in one of the following domains: brand ads, content ads, auction, bidding, ranking, and ads forecasting.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Machine Learning in forecasting, Deep Learning, NLP, ranking systems, recommendation systems, backend, large-scale systems, data science, full-stack.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant majors, with 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Relevant professional experience with machine learning, data mining, data analysis, distribution system.
  • Good product sense and experience designing and implementing product features.
