About the position

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Vision and Perception, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our neural network offerings and enhancing the cutting-edge features of our platform. Your primary focus will be on developing model observability functions that empower our users to build better and fairer machine learning models. You will also be involved in Datature's Insights and MLOps initiatives, which aim to streamline the model-building process for our users. In this role, you will scout and prototype state-of-the-art vision algorithms and methods, providing both our users and the internal team with potentially disruptive technologies that can be seamlessly integrated into the Datature platform. Your work will significantly improve user value and experience. You should have a passion for research, prototyping, and sharing innovative ideas based on real user feedback. This will help you contribute to a roadmap of ambitious features that we aim to ship to our users in our quarterly platform updates. You will be expected to contribute to the research, design, and implementation of state-of-the-art perception and vision algorithms, taking concepts from academic papers to practical implementation and integration. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our platform remains at the forefront of machine learning technology.

Responsibilities

  • Expand neural network offerings and enhance model observability functions for users.
  • Work on Datature's Insights and MLOps offerings to help users build better models.
  • Scout and prototype state-of-the-art vision algorithms and methods.
  • Integrate potentially disruptive technologies into the Datature platform.
  • Contribute to the research, design, and implementation of perception and vision algorithms.
  • Develop a roadmap of ambitious features based on user feedback and research.
  • Write clean and performant prototypical Jupyter Notebooks for user understanding of vision methods.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience researching, implementing, and deploying computer vision / deep-learning algorithms.
  • Experience with stacks that include PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, OpenCV, FFMPEG.
  • Experience with GCP / AWS Compute Instances.
  • Experience designing, training, and analyzing neural networks for various tasks such as object detection and motion prediction.
  • Passion for Deep-Learning Algorithms and experience serving APIs leveraging CUDA and Multi-GPUs.
  • Experience with computer vision research and prototypical notebooks for testing ideas.
  • Experience with Robotics and Control Systems is a plus.
