About the position

The Senior/Lead Machine Learning Engineer will be part of the Fitch Group's Emerging Technology team, focusing on building and supporting Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science solutions across the organization. This high-impact role involves collaboration with product squads to integrate and deploy innovative AI solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and governance in AI development.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product squads to build, integrate, and deploy Generative AI and data science solutions.
  • Share best practices and learnings with squad members.
  • Communicate advanced data science and ML concepts in simple language to business stakeholders, focusing on applicability to Fitch's business.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning and Generative AI solutions to meet enterprise goals and support experimentation and innovation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to identify innovative machine learning and Generative AI solutions that leverage data to meet business goals.
  • Design and develop scalable solutions and ML workflows that leverage machine learning, Generative AI, and deep learning models to meet enterprise requirements.
  • Maintain SLAs for production applications and provide support.
  • Create metrics to evaluate and improve the performance of machine learning solutions.
  • Build with AWS and Azure cloud computing services to enable data loading and LLM workflows.
  • Use Python/Java and large-scale data workflow orchestration platforms like Airflow for ETL and dynamic systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist.
  • Proficiency in developing production-quality Python and/or Java code.
  • High level of proficiency in machine learning and deep learning algorithms such as multi-class classifications, decision trees, and support vector machines.
  • Strong adherence to software and ML development fundamentals, including code quality, automated testing, and source version control.
  • Experience building Generative AI frameworks and fine-tuning LLMs.
  • Experience with search and information retrieval systems.
  • Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure infrastructure and services, including AWS Bedrock, AWS S3, AWS Sagemaker, Azure AI search, and Azure OpenAI.
  • Master's degree or above in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a research-based field.
