At the SEI AI Division, we conduct research in applied artificial intelligence and tackle the engineering questions related to the practical design and implementation of AI technologies and systems. Our mission is to lead a community-wide movement to mature the discipline of AI Engineering for Defense and National Security. As our government customers adopt AI and machine learning to provide leap-ahead mission capabilities, we focus on building real-world, mission-scale AI capabilities by solving practical engineering problems. We also discover and define the processes, practices, and tools necessary to operationalize AI for robust, secure, scalable, and human-centered mission capabilities. Our goal is to prepare our customers to face the unique challenges of adopting, deploying, using, and maintaining AI capabilities while identifying and investigating emerging AI and AI-adjacent technologies that are rapidly transforming the technology landscape. In this role as a senior machine learning engineer, you will be responsible for building machine learning capabilities using leading-edge technologies to address important and challenging government problems and needs. You will work with various machine learning frameworks and programming languages, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that enhance the capabilities of government organizations. Your work will involve technical experimentation with modern and emerging machine learning frameworks, methods, and algorithms, as well as collaboration with researchers at Carnegie Mellon University and other institutions.
