About the position

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Altice USA, you will play a pivotal role in deploying end-to-end solutions to complex business problems by leveraging advanced AI and machine learning principles. Your primary responsibility will be to consult with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. You will design high-level model structures and demonstrate deep expertise in advanced analytics techniques to prototype and build solutions that address specific business challenges. In this role, you will lead communication with various stakeholders to drive use case development, manage expectations regarding model limitations, and oversee project timelines. You will analyze data to identify useful relationships, patterns, and features that predict user behaviors, preferences, intents, and interests. Your project management skills will be essential as you manage and execute entire projects from start to finish, which includes data collection, manipulation, analysis, modeling, and the communication of insights and recommendations. You will also be responsible for the productionalization of final model products, ensuring they are ready for deployment in a production environment. Additionally, you will monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Your expertise will also extend to developing and maintaining end-to-end modeling code, standardizing it for reusability in production. You will engage in user profiling, including customer segmentation, to assist the marketing team in targeting specific audiences for service upgrades and user retention strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into data solutions.

  • Analyze data to identify useful relations, patterns, and features predictive of user behaviors and preferences.
  • Manage and execute entire projects from start to finish, including data collection, analysis, modeling, and communication of insights.
  • Share findings with stakeholders to improve business decisions and influence strategic direction.
  • Monitor and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies for innovation opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end modeling code and standardize it for reusability in production.
  • Profile users, including customer segmentation, to assist the marketing team in targeting specific audiences.

Requirements

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in classification, regression, clustering, natural language processing (NLP), experiments, and optimization.
  • Ability to apply Bayesian inference, frequentist statistics, causal modeling, and/or machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with customer segmentation, campaign targeting, A/B experiments, sales forecasting, churn propensity modeling, and other related areas.
  • Highly skilled in R and Python for statistical and machine learning programming.
  • Highly skilled in SQL & Python coding to wrangle and explore structured & unstructured data.
  • Proficient with server or Cloud computing platforms, such as Google Compute Engine or EC2.
  • Proficient with data warehouses, such as Oracle, Big Query, or AWS.
  • Subject matter expert capable of reviewing literature to identify state-of-the-art solutions.
