About the position

ALTA IT Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in supporting a respected US financial services firm. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere, but it requires that all work be conducted during Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, particularly with large deep-learning projects, and will be expected to demonstrate their expertise through hands-on coding and practical experience in distributed computing environments. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models that can handle big data projects, particularly using technologies such as Apache Spark. Experience with Ray is also highly desirable, as it will enhance our capabilities in distributed computing. The team is particularly interested in candidates who have experience with streaming and real-time machine learning, as this role will involve working on projects that require low-latency inference. Your contributions will be critical in ensuring that our machine learning solutions are efficient, scalable, and capable of meeting the demands of our clients in the financial sector. This is a contract position with a competitive hourly rate of $65.00 per hour, and we are open to C2C arrangements. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning models for large deep-learning projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning engineering.
• Proven experience with large deep-learning projects.
• Strong hands-on coding skills in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks, particularly Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with Ray for distributed machine learning tasks is a plus.
• Experience with streaming and real-time machine learning applications.
