About the position

The Senior Machine Learning Scientist-NLP at TikTok will play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance of our business systems through the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated machine learning algorithms. This position is situated within the Privacy and Data Protection Office (PDPO), which is dedicated to leading and empowering TikTok's privacy initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate end-to-end machine learning models that utilize machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) techniques to address real-world signals generated from privacy products, incidents, and review areas. In this role, you will analyze extensive and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights, identify opportunities for improvement, and facilitate data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, testing, and iterating on machine learning models to optimize recommendation functions and enhance user satisfaction. Your ability to communicate final recommendations effectively will be crucial in driving decision-making processes across the organization. Moreover, you will leverage data-driven techniques to build solutions that measure, validate, identify, and envision TikTok's privacy evolution. This includes designing and scoping out projects, building operationalized analytics tools and platforms, and utilizing data and AI models to uncover insights, diagnose problems, and tell compelling stories. The role also offers the opportunity to work closely with various cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, audit, security, public relations, government relations, and product teams, allowing you to build deep domain knowledge and expertise in privacy.
