About the position

As a (Senior) Machine Learning Scientist at FL94 Inc., you will lead the integration of AI/ML technologies to explore the interactions between small molecule drugs and proteins, driving novel functions. This role involves designing advanced computational algorithms and training ML models to gain insights into protein structures and their interactions, working closely with a diverse team of scientists in a pioneering biotechnology environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Machine Learning (AI/ML) models and algorithms in areas such as protein structure, quantum mechanics, and biomolecular interactions.
• Collaborate with biologists and chemists to identify opportunities for ML acceleration.
• Work with experimental scientists to build novel data generation strategies and improve the quality of high throughput data screens for ML models.
• Stay updated with advancements in AI/ML, particularly in protein-structural models, biosimulations, functional genomics, and bioinformatics.
• Mentor team members technically and professionally.

Requirements

• PhD or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology/Chemistry, Bioinformatics or a related field.
• Proficiency with various AI/ML models and relevant programming languages/tools (Python, JAX, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.).
• Proven experience applying AI/ML methods to diverse biological data, with a preference for protein structure experience.
• Experience with massive biomolecular interaction data sets, including the Protein Data Bank (PDB).
• Competence in molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry modeling, or other relevant models for interrogating protein-ligand interactions.
• Strong communication skills and authentic leadership qualities.
