About the position

The Senior Mainframe Support Administrator will be responsible for monitoring systems for potential issues, troubleshooting performance problems, and providing support for various applications and batch cycles. This role requires the ability to quickly learn and utilize monitoring tools to resolve issues efficiently. The position involves working closely with customer service requests and performing system checks, with an emphasis on maintaining production systems and ensuring their optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems for potential issues and performance problems.
• Use monitoring applications to identify and resolve system issues.
• Process customer service requests related to claims and system performance.
• Track incidents and catalog items using ServiceNow.
• Perform C2 clearance checks and validation as needed.
• Collaborate with internal groups and external vendors to resolve issues.
• Evaluate system performance in real-time and via reports.
• Review and create documentation for accuracy and future reference.
• Participate in work sessions for system support and problem resolution.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and administration of applications.

Requirements

• 4 years of technical experience with systems analysis, design, and/or programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of host application support, including monitoring host systems.
• Experience in JCL and CICS troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in DB2 and IMS.
• Strong understanding of production system maintenance and program changes.

Nice-to-haves

• Scripting in VBA or PowerShell.
• Experience with Endevor, Freeze Frame, MQ, and Splunk.
• Some distributed knowledge and server maintenance experience.
