About the position

The Senior Maintenance Associate is responsible for providing HVAC support to the Housing Services Department, ensuring the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and cooling units in residential buildings. This role involves compliance with agency policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements, while also managing preventative maintenance plans and addressing HVAC-related emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential buildings.
• Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components of HVAC systems.
• Obtain replacement parts and calibrate systems according to manufacturer's recommendations.
• Coordinate with outside consultants, contractors, and vendors as needed.
• Assist the Physical Plant Operations Engineer with the implementation and management of a preventative maintenance plan.
• Maintain the physical plant of the building, including plumbing, electrical systems, fire suppression systems, and booster pumps.
• Maintain good working order of company tools and report any mechanical issues to the supervisory chain.
• Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the Agency vehicle.
• Handle work orders in a prompt, efficient, and safe manner.
• Coordinate services to resolve any HVAC-related emergencies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (preferred).
• 1-2 years of HVAC experience (minimum).
• 3+ years of HVAC experience (preferred).
• 1-2 years of trade school (minimum).
• Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification (preferred).
