About the position

This position is contingent upon award, and only incumbents need to apply. The role involves providing guidance and technical input to maintenance managers in executing maintenance and management functions that support aircraft, aircraft systems, training, or support programs. The incumbent will review recommended changes from the fleet and other activities, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and independent technical investigations. Participation in the Readiness Improvement Program Reviews, Maintenance Engineering or Logistics reviews, and other technical and maintenance-related meetings is essential. The position also requires the preparation of lessons learned for process improvement and performing various tasks related to the development of detailed business processes. This includes creating issue sheets, logistics engineering change proposals, critical item logistics reviews, degraders, cost per flight hour management, and integrated maintenance program process improvements. The incumbent will develop cost and trend analysis to defend maintenance planning concerning logistics footprint across the platform, provisioning of spares, depot, and capability standup, as well as reduction of total ownership costs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and technical input to maintenance managers for aircraft and systems support.
  • Review recommended changes from the fleet and other activities, including ECPs and technical investigations.
  • Participate in Readiness Improvement Program Reviews and other technical meetings.
  • Prepare lessons learned for process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop detailed business processes related to logistics and maintenance.
  • Conduct cost and trend analysis to support maintenance planning and logistics management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Aviation or Business discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in operational logistics or maintenance engineering.
  • Four years of experience directing operational technicians in comprehensive analysis across Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
  • Four years of operational logistics support experience in fleet support.
  • Two years of experience in operational logistics planning and management.
