About the position

The Senior Maintenance Technician at Banner Health plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational integrity of the facility through a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, and general maintenance. This position requires both independent work and collaboration with a team, focusing on maintaining a safe and efficient environment for healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all maintenance requests, determine priority and actions needed.
  • Interact with all levels of management and maintain a strong customer service presence.
  • Ensure efficient and effective operation of equipment and maintenance-related services, including building inspections.
  • Observe OSHA guidelines for building safety and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Maintain computerized temperature control of the building and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies to reduce potential downtime.
  • Administer key control policy and maintain key inventory for the entire building.
  • Coordinate with the Security Department for maintenance of the security access system, card readers, gate arms, and cameras.
  • Oversee all facility projects and provide direction to internal and external customers to assure project completion.
  • Review and maintain appropriate maintenance documentation and building as-builts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge of small project managing skills.
  • Four or more years of diversified work experience as a maintenance technician with demonstrated maintenance or related skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent decision making and judgment in the performance of all duties.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding related and required maintenance and construction documents.
  • Working knowledge and certification of applicable regulatory codes, and State and local building codes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with common office software programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Journeyman level tradesman certification.
  • Previous construction experience.
  • Three to five years of previous healthcare Facilities Services experience.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
