About the position

The Senior Manager - Accounting Advisory / Technical Accounting position is a pivotal role within Regal Executive Search, where the successful candidate will engage closely with 'C-level' management of Fortune 500, mid-cap, and start-up companies. This role is designed for experienced financial consultants who are ready to take on leadership responsibilities, guiding project teams and interacting with clients and their Big 4 auditors across various aspects of engagements. The Senior Manager will be responsible for report writing, developing and managing relationships with client management, and driving business development initiatives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to own projects from inception to completion, gaining exposure to a diverse range of industries and projects. You will be challenged consistently and will learn in a collegial environment, collaborating with top-tier experts within the firm. The flexibility of working from the office, remotely, or on client sites will be engagement-specific, allowing you to create your own path while making a significant impact on your clients' businesses. As a Senior Manager, you will interact with clients' executive teams and auditors, serving as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues. You will lead client engagements, ensuring the delivery of operational due diligence for complex transactions such as IPOs, acquisitions, divestitures, stock offerings, and debt raises. Your expertise will be crucial in driving client deliverables of financial and regulatory information in compliance with SEC and regulatory requirements, including 10K's, 10Q's, S-1, and S-4 filings, as well as audit coordination. You will also lead projects related to new ASC accounting standards and spearhead process improvement initiatives. Mentorship is a key aspect of this role, as you will guide managers and consultants, fostering their professional growth and providing constructive feedback. Additionally, you will play an active role in the firm's recruiting efforts, client relationship building, and business development initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams and interact with clients and their Big 4 auditors on all aspects of engagements.
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Drive client deliverables of financial and regulatory information in accordance with SEC and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues and new ASC accounting standards.
  • Lead operational due diligence for complex transactions such as IPOs, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Mentor managers and consultants, fostering professional growth and providing actionable feedback.
  • Identify areas for improvement and lead firm initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Engage in business development efforts and build strong relationships with clients.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in public accounting and/or industry accounting/finance.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Proactive in identifying client needs and building strong client relationships.
  • Highly organized with the ability to set overall engagement expectations and direction.
  • Effective analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial nature, self-motivated, ethical, and dependable.
  • High energy with a commitment to quality client service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ASC 842 and ASC 606 accounting standards.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role with significant interaction with executive teams.
